Water quality Station 4 is located immediately upstream of Kapa`a Quarry Road at the entrance gate to the Ameron facility. In the photograph to the left taken during a storm on May 2, 2002, the discharge from a corrugated pipe culvert that drains the H-3 Interstate freeway is seen discharging red, turbid water into Kapa`a Stream, which is also very turbid, but whitish-tan in color.
